When: Mondays-Sundays. Continues through March 28 2026
The rodeo returns this month to unite artists, ranchers, and the public for its 88th year. Since 1938, Texans have headed to Austin to celebrate the state’s Western roots, and the event raises millions of dollars for scholarship programs helping Texas kids. Last week was the cook-off competition featuring teams from across the state, including a junior pitmaster competition for aspiring pit bosses. Now that you’ve recovered from barbecue heaven, you won’t miss the ProRodeo showcase, livestock shows, fairgrounds, concerts, pig racing, petting zoos, roller coasters, roping, vendors … you get the picture. – Rachel N.
