From the person who brought you public art & film mash-up The Plastic Bag Store comes another creative combination inspired by consumerism and its discards. 2024 Herb Alpert Award winner Robin Frohardt presents along with Fusebox the culmination of her obsession with the Home Depot parking lot across the street – a place characterized by asphalt and big-box store sprawl. Via a cardboard set, live puppetry, and film projection, Frohardt invites audiences to explore with her this fictional ecosystem that blurs “the line between the natural and the constructed.” – James Scott
