Rickshaw Billie's Burger Patrol, Bat Lips, Grocery Bag, Deerspine [outside]
When: Fri., Oct. 23, 8 p.m. 2026
Ca$h Grab wastes not a single note in bellowing its intent. Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol opens album No. 4 with “Freakshow,” which uncoils cautiously à la “Heart Shaped Box” before unleashing supernova grunge. Raw but huge, like In Utero (“Punisher”) and Jack White (“Follow Through”), the local trio’s latest mushrooms despite their calling it “[our] most introspective and lyrically vulnerable songwriting to date.” Singer/8-string guitarist Leo Lydon, drummer Sean St. Germain, and bassist/vocalist Aaron Metzdorf bristle a radioactive fuzz conforming to cited influences: alt. guit-architects Built to Spill, (Bob) Mould-y nuclear pop oldies Sugar, and Torontonian prog gods Rush. Live, stack on homegroans [sic] Bat Lips, Grocery Bag, and Deerspine, and it’s practically their Big Dumb Fest. – Raoul Hernandez
