Restos’ brand of rock kicks with a Midwest work ethic, grounded and hard-driving in a way intended to raise beers and wind down into a weekend. In Plain View, the quintet’s follow-up to 2023 debut Ain’t Dead Yet, expands that sound into broader territory, detouring off the straight-ahead highway into hazy Southwest desert jams. Restos retains the Tom Petty flair but lets the guitars do as much bleeding as Graham Weber’s songwriting. Dossey’s glitter grunge fires up the stage first alongside Danny Golden, slinging his excellent new LP The Big Blue. – Doug Freeman
