A chance meeting in an Uber brought guitarist Raze Regal (Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band) and drummer Stephen Bidwell (Black Pumas) together; mutual friends and common cause gave rise to Regal Bidwell Industries. The band celebrates the catalog of legendary label CTI – a name reviled by old-school jazz nerds for turning beloved icons like Freddie Hubbard into disco artists, but revered by hip-hop producers for its endless supplies of beats and grooves. Regal and Bidwell cleave to the latter view.
