Luckily singer-songwriter Jack Wilson overcaffeinated in Seattle’s coffee scene and returned home to open South Austin’s Radio Coffee & Beer in 2014 with his father Greg. Radio/East on Montopolis, new home to Levitation (YESSS), debuted in 2023 across three stages over nearly two acres. Last year completed the trifecta at Radio Rosewood on East 11th by adding a kitchen, lounge, and cocktails. Austin Afro-psych collective Golden Dawn Arkestra, as funky as Grupo Fantasma and as avant-jazz as Sun Ra, blows out the ascendant homegrown brand’s dozen candles with the help of local darkwave trio Club Coma.
