proun (album release), hemlock, Woodcutter(s), Amelia's Best Friend

Maybe Luck, proun’s anticipated debut LP, is a swirling potion of nostalgia, introspection, and new beginnings. Crafting an aching soundtrack for cathartic bike rides or a teary walk through your childhood neighborhood, songwriter Jamie Weed presses into familiar bruises with poetic incision. Joined on drums/engineering by alexalone’s Alex Peterson and bassist Dante Zatto, the album’s layered, exploratory soundscape incorporates bell-like harmonics, heart-pounding percussion, and overlapping bass melodies drawn from the band’s live sound. To celebrate the release on Friday, the trio is joined by alt-folk artist hemlock, shoegaze sentimentalists Amelia’s Best Friend, and recently established woodcutter(s). – Caroline Drew
