Professional Development for Emerging Artists & Curators

With a creative mind, one can imagine basically anything. But what about executing on that anything? Learning and understanding the professional artistic world is exactly what _OFCOLOR (Black Art WKND and RITUALS) is offering in their monthly limited series partnership with Austin Public Library. The BIPOC artists-focused nonprofit brings in local working leaders in the arts scene to share their expertise with incoming creatives and curators. This month’s guest is Coka Treviño, former artistic director of Big Medium and the guiding hand on the Texas Biennial. With over 20 years experience in curation, cultural engagement, and securing relationships between creatives and institutions, Treviño offers plenty of know-how worth listening to. – James Scott
