Avast, ye landlubbers! The piratical Disneyland ride burst on to the big screen in 2003 and made the roguish Jack Sparrow everyone’s favorite rum-swilling Halloween costume. But it was that unforgettable score from Klaus Badelt that got audiences in the mood for adventure before the sozzled captain set foot on dock. Badelt’s old friend and collaborator Hans Zimmer may have joined the crew for the sequels, but it was Badelt’s blaring horns that crested the wave. The Austin Symphony Orchestra brings the soundtrack to life with these special screenings. – Richard Whittaker
