When: Fridays-Sundays. Continues through April 9 2026
Eggs, horses, dogs, furries – the animalistic body, human or otherwise, is on full display in Austin-based painter Elijah Cuminato’s work. Juxtaposing pixelated images drawn from the early internet with flesh and teeth rendered convincingly in oil, Cuminato’s work is at once humorous, confrontational, and oddly nostalgic – a recipe for an intriguing first solo show at ContraCommon after graduating Texas State last year. The gallery is open to the public Friday-Sunday noon-6pm, but this March 14 reception from 4-7pm will have the artist in tow. – Lina Fisher
