NCAA D1 Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament

The No. 11-seeded men’s squad squeaked to a win with a beyond-clutch last-second bucket from Tramon Mark in its first game of the tourney (next up: a Thursday matchup with No. 6-seeded BYU Cougars), but it’s the No. 1-seeded women’s basketball team that’s most got us bouncing in our seats. Even better, that bouncing is going to happen in the familiar seats at Moody Center, which hosts the first two rounds of tournament action this weekend. Texas first takes the court Friday, 3pm, against the winner of Wednesday night’s Stephen F. Austin vs. Missouri State game (determined after press time). – Kimberley Jones
