Hot on the heels of Earth Month and Arbor Day comes a special workshop on how to identify trees and ethically collect seeds. Joining forces for this one are nonprofits TreeFolks, whose Seeds to Trees Native Nursery addresses the critical shortage of native trees in the region, and the Central Texas Seed Savers, which works to prevent the extinction of “ecologically and culinarily important trees” – can you imagine the holidays without pecan pie? Get in on the tree-saving action with these two expert groups, and leave with information about how to collect seeds to donate as well as the ability to give and understand directions like “turn left at the big oak tree.” – Kat McNevins
