Back when this gothic piece presented by David Lynch (oh, you know what he’s made) and directed by Michael Almereyda (Hamlet, featuring Austin native son Ethan Hawke) released to Texas audiences, the Chronicle review from Marc Savlov awarded it a very respectable three and a half stars with the closing line being “Recommended, and not just if you wear black all the time.” A visual delight for the undead and mortal alike, this 35mm, Pixelvision feature follows the offspring of Dracula – the titular Nadja (Elina Löwensohn) and her twin Edgar (Jared Harris) – in the aftermath of their pop getting popped by one Dr. Van Helsing. Plus, a Lynch cameo and a soundtrack blasting My Bloody Valentine. – James Scott
