Here, Clara’s an aspiring ballerina taken on a whirlwind tour by her Aunt Vivian’s dancing troupe. Enraptured by a not-so-wooden young man and in defiance of her father’s wishes, Clara pliés and pirouettes through cultures around the globe – which is all set to, of course, Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite. – James Scott
