Megan Jaster, Dream Forest, oil on wooden cradle, 24 x 24 x 2 in.
Austin-based painter Megan Jaster is the Austin Artist of the Month for November at Unchained.Art Contemporary Gallery. Her immersive oil paintings move between the subconscious and the natural world. Her process starts with photography, live models, and research, then moves through digital collage studies that include AI-generated filters, with the final painting left open to intuition. Old Master technique meets a thoroughly contemporary process. On November 1, she joins us from 12 - 4PM to introduce her new body of work in person. Her studio, across the hall from the gallery, is open for the Austin Studio Tour in November.
