JPR Music
This mental health-minded music festival – organized in honor of Austin musician Greg Goodman’s teenage daughter Meadow, who passed in 2023 – will always be a bittersweet affair, but the spirited international sounds of this year’s SIMS Foundation/OutYouth-benefiting shindig speak to its importance. Genre-agnostic local belter Quentin; Nigerian feel-good singer-songwriter Jon Muq; Dallas-based, NPR-recognized alt-hip-hop collective Cure for Paranoia; and electropop songstress Angélica Garcia are among the acts slated to storm Radio. Even better? Headlining Afro-Cuban rock star Cimafunk, whose latest album Te Toca swishes and swirls with Latin rhythms, emphatic rap verses, and infectious island energy. – Carys Anderson
