In the grand scheme of rocking electric holiday music, there are two titans: Trans-Siberian Orchestra (which already hit up the Moody a couple weeks ago), and Mannheim Steamroller. I always preferred the latter, enjoying their slightly more classic presentations of songs blasted through guitar amps. Don’t get me wrong, “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” is still high octane. It’s just filtered through synths and heavy drums that nowadays feel like a shockingly nostalgic yet fresh take on carols of yore. – Cat McCarrey
