When shall Shakespeare-heads meet again, in boiling heat or searing rain, to celebrate some murderous plans, before guilt mars the blood on hands? Macbeth reigns supreme among Shakespeare’s tragedies, exploring marital power plays, the effects of ego, and of course, the matter of free will vs. determinism. UT’s Theatre and Dance presents a fresh take on the Scottish play, utilizing an updated version conceived by Sunghyun Lim. It premiered in South Korea last year, and now Austin gets Lim’s dark twist on Macbeth’s tortured saga. – Cat McCarrey
