New name, same great mission: Live at Central Machine, the Eastside brewery’s free spring concert series, mirrors last fall’s The Next Stage, which pulled local heavy hitters into CMW’s backyard to raise money for various Austin nonprofits. Once again, the bar partners with promoters Resound Presents for the event – and the Chronicle has hopped on board, too. This week, enjoy the sweet/sultry/saucy three-part harmonies of Next of Kin, Austin’s queerest, cuntiest country band. Last year’s Homemaker EP put Caelin, Madison Baker, and Lili Hickman on the map with boygenius-level introspection and the Chicks’ charisma; latest single “The Alley” goes moody with quiet guitar and weeping pedal steel. – Carys Anderson
