Little Women

When Louisa May Alcott wrote her classic novel about Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, she probably did not imagine that, in 2026, a play reimagining her work would be mounted at a university in Austin, Texas. And not for lack of imagination, as Alcott’s timeless tale was exceedingly modern at time of publication. Yet playwright Kate Hamill’s script updates the March sisters for a new generation while retaining the novel’s setting and its themes of love, work, and sisterhood. St. Edward’s hosts this contemporary adaptation as directed by Emily Green with the sisters played by Annika Roberts (Meg), Victoria Turner (Jo), Amaris Jimenez (Beth), and Evyen Castillo (Amy). – James Scott
