Boomershack’s skirt-swishin’, boot-stompin’ Western sound scratches whatever nostalgic itch you might harbor for Texas summer time immemorial. Centered around Dan Perez’s timeless vibrato, the quintet’s laid-back strumming saunters and sways onstage, as captured in their June live EP. The local group pairs well with Austinite singer-songwriter Audrey Price, whose Americana compositions simmer with thoughtful lyricism and layered harmonies. Her May single “Tell Tale” takes a rock turn, with star-chasing guitar licks and cathartic vocalizations. The Radio/East concert raises money for the SAFE Alliance, an Austin-based organization that provides support, shelter, counseling, and resources to those who have experienced abuse. – Caroline Drew
