Third and final free-for-all at the newly re-christened Girard Kinney Park at Mueller – with the second show pulled for weather – Animeros top off the spring concert series with south-of-the- border party hypnotics nonpareil. Local Latin scene vets Mauro Lopez, Nicolás Sánchez, and Nick Tozzo feed mambos, cumbias, boleros, y más through a Mexican/South American buzz blender that crackles positively psicodélico. The music portion of the inaugural KUT Festival headlined an endearingly plaintive Shakey Graves, and KUTX’s continued curation of Austin greats reminds us that public radio deserves our patronage in these embattled times.
