The original Kung Fu Panda that came out in 2008 was one in a long line of DreamWorks bangers (Shrek, Madagascar) that made the Aughts a wonderful time for kids’ movies. Jack Black’s vocal talents lent wit to Po, our reluctant noodle purveyor-turned-hero, and of course, who could forget the cultural saturation that “Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting” had? But cut to 2024, when we were in the trenches of the sequel epidemic, and the best we got was MrBeast as Panda Pig, whatever that means. [Editor’s note: He’s a pig painted black-and-white, obviously.] Still, the kiddos of today may truly enjoy this action-packed wisecracking franchise, if only for the talents of Mr. Black. – Lina Fisher
