When: Tuesdays-Sundays. Continues through Feb. 15 2026
If you judge Katherine Boxall’s art from first glance alone, you’re already treated to a richly abstract world. The way she blends and contrasts paints, rich hues melding in drips and bursts, seems to beckon into a fantastical, almost psychological world. The drips could be stalactites guarding caverns of color. The bursts are nebulous galaxies or neurological connections. But learning of the method behind each creation – Boxall often uses ordinary household paint, with gesso or spray paint – adds a vibrant layer of meaning. It begs us to ponder how everyday materials open worlds of possibility. While the show runs into February, appreciate it with a crowd during the Jan. 9 opening reception. – Cat McCarrey
