Just for Teens: Decoden Dessert Boxes

As a former teen, I adored the decoden trend when it first crossed my Tumblr dashboard in the late 2000s. While the Japanese decorating style popular in many subcultures from gyaru to Gothic Lolita often shows up on phone cases, big fake frosting and cutesy sprinkles could be plopped on pretty much anything. In honor of APL’s 100th anniversary, this crafty session uses the technique to make a trinket box into a pretty and non-edible cake – so no matter how good it looks, don’t take a bite! – James Scott
