Spanish artist Juan Luis Jardi has been exhibiting internationally since 1983, but his paintings evoke nostalgia for a time that can’t be defined. Mesmerizing depictions of water and realistic landscapes are filled with contemplative characters whose carbon copies fade as they repeat on the canvas, alluding to movement and the passage of time. Streetscapes open into lush, dreamlike havens, indicating an escape from the rush of contemporary life.
