Some bands come together out of creative synchronicity, others because they simply need to exist in the world. The Darryl’s are neither. Making a rare appearance on Halloween to release their debut album, How It’s Done, it’s unclear if the mighty quintet of Durl Darryl, Cheryl Darryl, Lucky Dog Darryl, and Thibodeaux “Beans” Darryl are actually related, but they share an affinity for throwback country kickers, cheap well tearjerkers, and half-cocked, fully loaded trailer park anthems. They also share a striking resemblance to Midland’s Cameron Duddy and Luke Cutchen, highway rogue Jonathan Terrell, and smooth Arkansas crooner Dylan Earl. – Doug Freeman
