What’s better than two screens of the best arthouse, international, classic, and experimental cinema around? How about three screens? That’s the new reality at AFS Cinema, which celebrates the opening of its new 169-seat theatre with a weekend of new restorations to capitalize on the third screen’s 4K digital laser projection and 7.1 surround sound. On tap: The Color of Money, Martin Scorsese’s crowd pleasing follow-up to The Hustler; Unzipped, 1995's insider lens on Isaac Mizrahi; and Marie Antoinette, Sofia Coppola’s anachronistic, iconoclastic punk-rock period piece. Later in the week, a lucky few can enjoy an already-sold-out sneak screening Oct. 27 of Paper Tiger with writer-director James Gray in attendance. – Kimberley Jones
