Dallas native Jess Williamson might call Los Angeles home for half the year, but she's choosin' Texas (sorry, we couldn’t help it) to debut her sixth studio album. After a listening party in Marfa, where she splits her time, Williamson will take to the Continental Club for the official release party for A Mile South of Heaven, which was produced by Shooter Jennings at Sunset Sound. On the album she grapples with the possibility of leaving California behind, the lyrics balancing wide open Texas soundscapes with a distinctly Hollywood sparkle. She ultimately decided to stay, but the resulting work promises to be her most "twang-forward" yet. – Abby Johnston
