With Kenny Dorham’s Backyard finally scheduled to begin its renovation/transformation into the Kenny Dorham Center, Jazz OUTside prepares for its final bow – maybe. There’s a possibility the free jazz showcase could relocate next year, but that remains to be seen. In the meantime, the core band of Damien Valenzuela (sax), Steve Mankenberg (drums), and leader Dave Laczko (effects-drenched trumpet) close out the 13th season with a trio of regular guests: keyboardist/programmer Ricardo Acevedo and guitarists Chris Petkus and Michael Goldsmith. Show at 8pm, followed by a free improvisation jam at 9pm open to anyone with an axe. – Michael Toland
