One of the most sweeping, expansive, truly dramatic space movies to ever do it, this modern Christopher Nolan classic follows Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway as astronauts separated from their earthly loved ones on a mission to decode alien messages that may save us from encroaching environmental destruction. It’s sentimental, yes, but the three-hour runtime is enough to include heart-thumping action sequences, breathtaking visual tableaux, and moments of light comedy as well. An old school-style blockbuster if there ever was one, it’s a perfect movie to get your butt in a theatre. – Lina Fisher
