In the past four years, women’s rights have taken multiple hard hits to the head from Texas lawmakers. From House Bill 1280 – the trigger law that slid out 30 days after Roe v. Wade got overturned, screaming into unholy life a first-degree felony charge for anyone who provided an abortion that led to an “unborn child” dying – to last year’s clear attack on transgender women, aka gender police bathroom bill Senate Bill 8, the priorities of our Republican-led Lege are anti-woman beyond a doubt. UT-Austin Students for a Democratic Society rally this International Women’s Day in defense of the bodily autonomy and freedom owed to all women, with endorsement from local orgs like Hands Off!
