Expression is survival for Indigo De Souza, and the 28-year-old is no stranger to the darker shades of life. Trauma and hardships permeate De Souza’s music, but now the singer’s starting to overcome them with both defiance and vulnerability. Possessing folk-like lyrical frankness, and a remarkable vocal range capable of both power and sensitivity, they craft a dreamy alt-rock landscape mirroring the somber surrealness of their album covers, each painted by De Souza’s mother. “When you’re going and the going gets hard/ Click your heels and feel my love,” they open in their stellar 2025 single “Heartthrob.” – Joseph Gonzalez
