In the Mouth of Madness

Losing actor Sam Neill was a roundhouse kick to the throat. He was so much more than a wise guide through dinosaur world; he was a haunted space captain, a man in search of Montana, and, a personal favorite, a pompous investigator losing his everloving mind while searching for bestselling author Sutter Cane. Seriously, smarmy Sam is a particular delight. John Carpenter really channeled eldritch horror with this one, crafting a New England hellscape that Lovecraft would give two tentacles way, way up. There’s no better way to honor a Kiwi gem than through watching him descend into pure, delicious, Carpenter-flavored madness. – Cat McCarrey
