ImproVintage: ANNual ANN Richards Celebration

Oh, how we miss Ann Richards! Texas’ 45th governor was fierce, a feminist, and a force to be reckoned with. Our most recent Democratic governor, she was succeeded by George W. Bush in 1995 and died in 2006 after decades of advocacy for progressive issues. For this edition of ImproVintage, Comedy Wham’s unique take on improv inspired by vintage items, the Briscoe Center for American History brings Ann Richards items to plant the seeds of comedy. A quick wit herself, Richards would surely get a kick out of what they’re calling the first of many annual celebrations of the dearly departed Democrat who still inspires us today. – Kat McNevins
