Home Is Here benefiting Casa Marianella w/ David Garza, Gina Chavez, Bruce Robison, more

Casa Marianella occupies a unique place among the city’s homeless services providers. It’s the only shelter dedicated exclusively to immigrants fleeing torture and political persecution in their home countries. The group provides temporary housing, food, clothing, and ESL courses, and its legal clinic has been working overtime to free residents from ICE detention. Casa needs funds to keep the clinic up and running though, so it presents its third annual Home Is Here concert this Saturday. Local musicmakers David Garza, Gina Chavez, and Tekle Mezghebe will fill Central Machine Works’ breezy courtyard in East Austin, just blocks from where the group does its good deeds. – Brant Bingamon
