So: You’ve opened the Lament Configuration and are unable to handle the terrible delights unleashed. Happens to the best of us – or honestly, the worst of us, as is the case in both the book and film versions of this Clive Barker tale. Details differ from medium to medium, with Barker’s original The Hellbound Heart focused on a friend group and his directorial debut substituting romantic tension for family drama, but that stuff doesn’t matter when almost everyone gets literally torn apart by the sadistic yet divine Cenobites.
