Celebrating the life and legacy of legendary composer & bassist, Charles Mingus! With Eric Mingus, son of Charles & Judy, and acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and poet; he's toured with Bobby McFerrin, YoYo Ma, Carla Bley; performed with Percy and Jimmy Heath, and has performed all over the world including Bonnaroo, Berlin Jazz Festival, and NYC Summerstage. Unveiling the sculpture "Memories of a Dragon - The Mingus Spirit" inspired by Mingus' Lion-Head bass, created for the music community of Austin. With 3x Grammy Winner & Mingus Big Band leader, Boris Kozlov, and local heavies. Jam Session. Presented by The Jazz Purveyor
