Folk singer and multidisciplinary artist Ed Hamell’s visual work will be at Yard Dog for the next month, if you want to swing by for a glimpse of how he views the world. It’s bright and a bit distorted, cartoonish and absurd, and oddly appealing. Maybe the world holds more joy through his lens. But Saturday’s opening show promises an even better time, with Hamell LIVE and in-person. It’s not just a concert, not just spoken word, but closer to a wild one-man show with tunes and tales aplenty. – Cat McCarrey
