Sorry to disappoint you, but the film Cannibal Man contains zero cannibalism. Perhaps a more apt name would be The Week of the Killer, its alternate title. It may not be gourmet, but it is gore-met, this queer proto-slasher made during the Franco rule of Spain that came with plenty of censorship. Transgressive director Eloy de la Iglesias pushed the envelope with this flick that finds its titular killer’s body count rise as he tries to cover up an accidental death, and when you look past all the blood you’ll see a clever critique of the fascist society it was made under.
