Alongside Billy Strings, Goose – not to be confused with indie rockers Geese – has been crowned the next big thing in the jam-band world, and the quirky Connecticut fourpiece hasn’t slowed for a second since their pandemic-era rise. The group’s brand of silly-boy funk doesn’t get as brilliantly disconcerting as the likes of Phish, but Goose’s gifted players still dive in and out of free-spirited jams as well as anyone. Lead guitarist and vocalist Rick Mitarotonda’s silky ramblings and Anastasio-like guitar noodling flow through ear-pleasing compositions that will make the two-set show go by in a flash – and yes, you’re encouraged to adoringly yell “Goooose” after every song. – Joseph Gonzalez
