From the artists who brought you the fuzzy faces of “Bear Hug” and the romantic duos of “Somebody to Love” comes a 10-artist group exhibition exploring the nature of luck. Co-curator Rebecca Marino spent the last few months teaching SAGE’s artists – all of whom have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities – the art of rug tufting, which culminates here in a collaboration between Marino and the studio. But rugs aren’t all the viewer’s eye will catch, as artist Alan Rivera offers mixed-media lotería interpretations; Chris Cody lays out a deck of tarot-inspired works; and what about those shrinky-dink charms by Henry McDonald I spied on SAGE’s Instagram page? All these and custom fortune cookies await during this Friday exhibition kickoff. – James Scott
