Co-founded by Graham Reynolds and Peter Stopschinski in the mid-Nineties, Golden Hornet has made it a mission to provide showcase opportunities for unknown composers locally and from around the world. The Young Composers Concert is one such, and when they say young, they mean young. The YCC presents new works from grade-school children, teaching them how to write music for ensembles, how to organize and promote performances, and not only what classical music is, but what it can be. We’re lucky to catch these budding young musicmakers before their creativity gets constrained by following the “rules.” The show starts at 3pm. – Michael Toland
