Julian Lennon, Miley Cyrus, Blue Ivy Carter: Rock-n-rap attracts a select few scions to follow in their parents’ giant footprints. If you hail from Mamou, Louisiana, where self-proclaimed “Cajun Music Capital of the World” and dad John Delafose blazed zydeco across cultures with his accordion, family business owns you like the mob. Geno Delafose, 55 come February and GQ handsome still in his cowboy hat and boots, stands as imposing as John (1939-1994), yet with a sanguine grin as bright as the squeezebox strapped to him. Zydeco’s unrelenting beat, meanwhile, induces a musical hypnosis almost metal-like save for the dancers sure to swarm this 3pm matinee. – Raoul Hernandez
