How do we stop protecting the current broken system and start building a fortress around our future? This is one of many questions lingering in the new group exhibition hosted at ART’s Canopy gallery. From three local artists come pieces that “look beyond the veil, inviting us into an unruly place of becoming,” with metallic porcelain craft by Hope Hummingbird, ceramics & paintings by Kate Csillagi, and Lauren Napolitano’s interpretations of contemporary folk magic. Opening night on Friday, Oct. 2, offers refreshments and an opportunity to chat with the artists on-site. – James Scott
