Exhibition Opening Reception for BLUE IMMERSION

BLUE IMMERSION brings together two artists whose distinct painting practices converge around themes of water, familiar imagery, and the feelings that landscapes evoke. Gabriella Pulsifer celebrates Austin and the Hill Country’s swimming holes with vibrant, meditative paintings that merge ecological insight with unexpected color and pattern. Paul Schexnayder approaches painting through memory. Beginning with familiar images-roadside structures, maps, childhood objects he layers, obscures, and partially erases them until what remains is not the object itself, but the feeling of having known it. Both artists explore immersion: in water and nature, in the visible and invisible forces that transform our world.
