It is a truth universally acknowledged that every “weird” city must have thriving circus arts. We’re lucky enough to have a few here in Austin, including the incomparable Cirque Vida. They keep their fiercely exploratory performances dedicated to enriching our local space and proving that “circus is for everyone.” Latest work Entre Dos Cielos was initially developed through a Centro Cultural Teopanzolco residency in Cuernavaca, Mexico. But Cirque Vida’s local (Lockhart counts, it’s worth the drive!) presentation widens that net, bringing in original music by DEADMAN, performances by Lockhart High School’s Mariachi Program, and mesmerizing circus skills. – Cat McCarrey
