It’s hard to tell a Christmas story that hasn’t been told, let alone cement a new classic character, but Will Ferrell’s Buddy the Elf did just that in 2003. Though peppered with broad early-Aughts eyeroll-worthy humor, the timeless core of the movie is Buddy’s newborn-like confusion at the callous world of department store capitalism, and his ability to charm those around him back into their own childlike senses of wonder again. Watch it while wearing an elf hat at this heartwarming and hilarious movie party screening from Alamo. – Lina Fisher
