There are few greater challenges for a performer than a true solo show. Suzy Eddie Izzard has a long history of dominating the stage alone as a stand-up, but now she’s become a monarch of the stage with this one-person production of Shakespeare’s tale of revenge, sin, and procrastination. The tragedy of the Danish royal family is actually a family affair, since the adaptation was undertaken by Izzard’s brother, Mark. However, on the night it will be Izzard walking the battlements of Elsinore alone in this critically lauded production that has already taken London, New York, and Los Angeles by storm. – Richard Whittaker
