Few Austin bands have evolved more enjoyably or strangely than Drakulas, Riverboat Gamblers' Mike Wiebe and Rise Against guitarist Zach Blair’s long-running side project. Celebrating new LP Midnight City, the fourpiece trades its usual Dickies-style sing-along punk for the charged late-Seventies electro-clang of Magazine and John Foxx-era Ultravox. Supporting: Nineties Dentonites Oddfellows, who resemble a garage-ier Buzzcocks. Various Oddfellows later surfaced in the Marked Men, Mind Spiders, and High Tension Wires before reuniting for this long-overdue debut album. Openers Death Party come off like a spookier Ramones trapped in a reverb tank. It’ll be the best, most left-of-center punk event this week. – Tim Stegall
